Privacy Policy

Kountly stores the information you choose to enter, such as:

• Savings goals, their plans, and the contributions and deposits you record
• Recurring and one-time expenses, and the payments you mark as made
• Income
• Debts, such as account names, balances, interest rates, 0% promotions, and payments
• Notes you add to goals and expenses
• Your settings, such as theme, currency, start of the week, and reminder preferences

This information is stored only on your device, in the App’s private storage. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it.

Kountly does not require you to create an account or sign in, and does not ask for personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Kountly does not connect to your bank or to any other financial account, and never asks for banking credentials. It does not use its own analytics service.

Kountly may display banner advertisements. We use Google AdMob to provide and measure them.

Where advertising is enabled, Google’s advertising software in the App may automatically collect technical information, such as:

• Device type and operating system
• App version
• Device or advertising identifiers, where permitted
• Approximate location derived from technical information such as an IP address
• Advertising interaction data
• General diagnostic and performance information

Nothing you enter in Kountly — your goals, expenses, income, debts, or notes — is shared with Google or with advertisers.

Where the law requires it, Kountly asks for your consent through Google’s consent form before ads are requested. If that applies to you, Ad Privacy Choices in the App’s Settings lets you change your answer at any time. Declining does not prevent you from using the App.

Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Kountly does not ask for permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. On Apple devices, advertisements are therefore served without your device’s advertising identifier.

Kountly can remind you about upcoming savings, bills, and debt payments, and can send a daily spending check-in. Reminders are off until you turn them on, and the App asks for your permission the first time you do.

Reminders are scheduled on your device. We do not operate a notification server, and no information is sent to us to deliver them.

A reminder can include the name and amount of the goal, bill, or account it is about, and may appear on your lock screen depending on your device’s notification settings.

You can turn reminders off at any time in Kountly’s Settings or in your device’s settings.

Kountly does not currently offer in-app purchases.

If purchases are introduced in a future version, payments will be processed by the platform from which you downloaded the App, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, and Ketch Labs Inc. will not receive your full payment card information. This Privacy Policy will be updated before any purchases are offered.

Information processed through Kountly may be used to:

• Provide the App’s plans, summaries, and insights on your device
• Send the reminders you turn on
• Display and measure advertisements
• Improve the App’s performance and reliability
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information for money.

Kountly may use third-party services to operate certain features of the App. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Depending on the version and features of Kountly, these providers may include:

• Google AdMob — advertising and advertising consent
• Apple App Store — distribution
• Google Play — distribution

These companies operate independently and may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

The information you enter stays on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.

Kountly does not back up your information to any server, so information you delete cannot be recovered by us. Your device’s own backup service may include the App’s data, depending on your device settings.

Information processed by third-party service providers may be retained according to their respective retention policies and legal obligations.

Kountly is a personal finance tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the matter.

You can remove everything Kountly has stored by deleting the App from your device.

You can control advertising consent, tracking, and notification permissions through the App’s Settings and your device’s privacy settings.

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about how your data is processed. Because we do not receive what you enter in the App, requests about information held by a third-party provider may need to be submitted to that provider.

The information you enter is kept in the App’s private storage on your device and is protected by your device’s own security, such as its passcode. Kountly does not add encryption of its own.

No electronic storage, transmission, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Some service providers used by Kountly may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

When information is transferred internationally, it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kountly changes or to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

If a future version adds accounts, backup, or anything else that changes how your information is handled, we will update this policy before that feature is turned on, and revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
